How to Get Beer Stains Out of Everything
We’ve all been there. A vigorous cheers, a bumble at the bar, one too many… suddenly we’re wearing our beer. And we’re wearing it all over something that is inevitably dry-clean only. Fret not: if you find yourself up to your neck in IBU, here’s how to get it out:
First step: BLOT. Absorb as much of the spilled liquid as fast as you can before introducing anything stain-removing. A paper towel, a fistful of napkins, a teatowel… whatever.
If you’ve wrecked your shirt: dilute some dish soap or laundry detergent in lukewarm water. With a towel or napkin, dab at your stain, repeating until it’s gone, or at least lightened significantly. Launder as usual, but check to make sure the stain is gone BEFORE you put it in the dryer.
On carpet or furniture: Still blot! Blotting is for winners. Once you’ve absorbed as much of the beer as possible, treat with an upholstery cleaner like Resolve. Older, set-in beer stains may require the use of an extraction cleaner like the Little Green Machine or Rug Doctor, but they CAN be removed!
